An analogy for space time curvature.

Space-time curvature The sun stretches its surrounding space just as a child stretches the fabric of a trampoline.
Then earth's motion is guided by the sun's space-time curvature just as a marble is by the trampoline.
Even though the analogy is colorful, its physical reality doesn't match the reality of the solar system.
Both child and marble make physical contact with the trampoline's curvature; and the interactions that are occurring on the trampoline make sense.
By contrast sun and earth are in contact with nothing. How could there be any interaction between non-material space-time (or nothing) and material mass?

Hidden in the analogy is a precious clue though.

The constituents in the analogy are all of same nature, all are physical and all are made of material mass.
By contrast in the solar-system, space-time is immaterial while earth's mass is material!

Introducing an innovative yet pragmatic idea.

Because the sun's gravitation controls earth's motion, the clue provided by the analogy mandates that:
  1. Both sun's gravitation (labeled space-time curvature in science) and earth's motion must be physical, in the sense that we human can feel them as we do physical matter.
  2. The sun's gravitation and earth's motion must also be of same nature, as to be able to interact; the controversy after all is that we laypersons do not believe that space-time and matter do interact.
Item 1 first: dear reader, before reading farther, I the writer am going to ask you, right now to first consider motion and then to acknowledge that motion is physical.
Motion is physical because one can see the occurrence of motion, even feel it, just as one sees and feels physical (material) objects!

Item 2 above: because sun's gravitation and earth's motion interact, the analogy suggests they must be of same nature; we are then led to think that the sun's gravitation is made of motion!
And surprise... direct and simple physical evidence showing that gravitation is motion is free fall!
Finally, to be true to the analogy motion must interact with motion; yet that happens to be a pre-existing fact, see footnote.

Making abstraction of the abstract in favor of the physical.

One's mind to start with, is reluctant to the idea that motion (rather than gravitation or space-time curvature) is what makes objects fall!
That can't be! That's too simple! That's childish! There is no force in motion! It goes against physics essentials etc...
Yet one sees motion, and not space, and not time, let alone space time curvature!
Both Newton's force of gravity and Einstein's space time curvature, in spite of their universality, simply are abstract concepts with respect to motion.
All in all this author favors to base its own description of gravitation on the tangible entity of motion rather than on hypothetical space, time and alleged curvature!
The word gravimotion, merging gravitation into motion synthesizes both the language and the reality it represents.

Footnote: here are 2 examples of motion interacting on motion
  • Einstein famous "time dilation concept" as first witness.
    Time dilation, and that has been verified experimentally, coincides to the slowing down of a clock when that clock overall motion is increased (when placed in a plane for instance).
    In that experiment physicists claim that time is slowed down! Yet that is misunderstanding reality!
    Any pragmatic mind sees instead that the clocks' internal motion mechanism is slowed down by the clock's overall motion!
  • Another example of motion interacting on motion, yet familiar to all, is the swirling of water while going down the drain.
    In this case earth's spin motion interacts with the rushing motion of the water toward the drain.
